I admired the ardor and sincerity of his
approach. The result of this searchwas a life
ofservice inwaysIcouldneverhave imagined.
He is able to attract and infuse otherswith a
desire to serve and teaches them to release
their talents.
We often travelled in groups to teach in
country towns in the south of Western
Australiaand in theNorthwest. I particularly
remember one visit which took place in a
settlement in theNorthwest. This visitwas a
specialonesoa largerthanusualnumberofus
arrived, planning to spend theday there.
Myattempts todescribeGreghave
takenmany twistsand turnssince I
amattempting todescribeagenius
withazest for living.
Soonafterarrival Imade for the toilet,opened
the door and promptly shut it. Greg saw the
horrorandpaniconmy facebut saidnothing.
After a time he toldme that the toilet could
nowbeused. In totaldisbelief Imademyway
there and could not believemy eyes. I could
use it. DearGreghad cleanedwhat I thought
couldnotbecleaned. I cannot forget, norcan
I imagineagreateractofpure love.
Greg’s life and creative passion so fittingly
fulfills the Guardian’s answer to a believer
that “Thepurposeof aBahá’í life shouldbe to
promote theOnenessofMankind.”
Greg, youhaveenrichedus all by setting such
a high standard of love and service. Youwill
always remain in our prayers and thoughts.
