Itmaynotbeknown toall,but, ifyou
really dig deep, Mr. Parker actually
hasasenseofhumor.
How do you know, you may ask, well this
goes back some 30 years to the days that we
were in the same Baha’i Community andMr.
Parker thought it would be funny to call our
houseandpretendthathe isapoliceconstable.
Now, if I recall correctly this all “went south”
whenmy fatheransweredthephoneand it just
happened that his Frenchwas better than his
English at the time so,Mr. Parker was caught
inaposition trying toexplainwhohewas and
whyhewascalling.
On a serious note, I had the pleasure of
serving the FaithwithGreg for a few years on
aregionalBaha’i committee. Ialwaysadmired
his level headed approach todiscussing issues
that required a balance between a number of
differing views presented a number of strong
minded individuals.Greg’sstrengthhasalways
come fromhisunshakable trust inhis faith.

I‘ve known Greg since the 1980s
whenwemoved toWA.
We served together in many occasions. One
day he asked about my name Mojgan and
themeaning of it. I was very conscious ofmy
name then and didn’t want anyone to know
themeaning of it as it doesn’t have the same
feel inEnglish.Greg insisted toknowwhat the
meaning of my name is and promised not to
tell anyone. So I told him thatMojganmeans
eyelashes however it s a poetic word and the
word is usedonly inpoetry.... And guesswhat
? From then onGreg calledme ‘Eyelashes’ in
front of friends and strangers!! And Imust say
it sounds quite normal nowwhen across the
hall someone calls ‘hi Eyelashes’ and no one
has acluewhathe is talkingabout, but I know
Greg is around :)Greghas been an inspiration
of faith, love, courage and steadfastness tome
andmy family.
Withmuch love
Eyelashes:)
