I rememberGregasaBaha’i youth
dedicatingmuchofhis time to
singingandcreatingmusicabout
hisnewfoundFaith.
Some 40 years ago I was given a beautiful
tape of Greg’s Baha’i songs sung byGreg, Lisa
Lindsay, and Paul called Songs of Certitude
and to this day it ismy favourite collectionof
Greg’s songs.
I remember when Maxine and Jim Bradley,
Ken and Ellie Thorne and Greg and Sandra
moved toBunbury as pioneers to that town. I
visited there a few times and remember Greg
was always occupied with his music. I also
have Journey’s End, the tapehe recordedwith
Malini lateron–beautiful songs.
We moved from the Kimberleys to Narrogin
during that time and in October 1995, the
Narrogin Baha’i Community organised a
whole day of the Narrogin Spring Festival.
We called it
It’s a RainbowWorld
. A portion
of theNew Era Choir sang on the day. There
was a bandplaying and lots of other activities
– particularly for children. I remember at the
end of the day we were cleaning up and this
elderly lady was still sitting there while most
other peoplehad left and she lookedup atme
and said
“Youknowa littlebit of heaven came to
Narrogin today.”

themornings.
Water was cold and we would hesitate for
a while before entering the water. We felt
desperatelycoldaswatercreptupour legsand
wettedourbodies.Greg joinedusonemorning
and sawour suffering.He thought of showing
ushowtodo it.Hesaidyourush intothewater
and jump inwithoutwaiting.He tried toshow
us how it is done.He rushed in thewater and
jumped into the knee-high water. We saw
Greg coming out immediately. His lips were
white.Hewascoldand shiveringHecouldnot
control his jaws and one could see his teeth
chattering.Hewrappedhimself ina towel and
toldusthathewouldneverswim inthatwater.
I thinkhehasnotbrokenhispromise since!
Our community has had aweekly half-hourly
radioprogram since 1990. Greg andhis family
lived inAlbany for a fewyears.He saw thatwe
were struggling with production of the radio
programs. He offered to help and we happily
gavehim the complete taskof productionand
broadcasting. He produced many programs
and provided then onCDs.We are still using
all of his productions. These productions are
beautiful, concise, accurate and attractive.We
have had many listeners commenting about
the content of the programs. Greg has aGod-
given talent to explain the principles of the
Faith. It comes from depth of his heart and
affects theheartsof listeners.
