Too soon therewasacar in front
thatmovedextremely slow,
Agreendilapidatedcar that curbed
the trafficflow.
“Suchdriversare,”Greg strove for calm,
“amenaceon the road,
Becauseofdrivers suchashe,
the trafficall is slowed”.
Agapcame inanother lane,
its lengthwashard togauge,
ButGregwheeled to the space
just likeabird freed from itscage.
Thenpast theComo suburb
and theNarrowsBridgehefled,
His sensesall on full alert,
toMountsBayRoadhe sped.
Hedrovewitheyeupon thewatch,
through trafficdense toweave,
“Wewill be thereon time,”hebreathed,
ithminutesupour sleeve.
Still swinging fast from lane to lane,
hisnerves severely taxed,
‘til StirlingHighwaywehad reached,
where slightlyGreg relaxed.
Weall congratulatedGregonhisability.
Therewerevery fewcoulddrive,
as skilfullyashe.
AndGregwaspleased tobeon time,
hisesteem then tookablow,
“Look!Ahead!Thatdamnedgreencar,
Ipassed sixk’sago!

that sumsupGreg - it really isahard
thing todo...All I know is thatone
thinghe taughtmewas theold
‘never judgeabook’.
I’m pretty sure I would have thought he was
a bit of a know-it-all when Imet him, but he
turned out to be the opposite. That’s not to
say he doesn’t know a lot, because he actually
does!! (Don’t tell him I said that thoughhaha)
But he turned out to be the most humble,
cheerful, positive, selfless and encouraging
person Ihaveevermet.Nomatterhowbehind
orunderpressurehewaswithhisownworkhe
would always put it aside to help anyone else
inneed.
He really is a true teacher in every sense of
the word. And although he is competitive,
it is in a good naturedway. He never did get
over the fact that I got 100%onanessayonce,
despite the fact that he prettymuch gotHigh
Distinctions for every subject he did! And to
be entirely honest I’m sure his jealousy was
feigned inorder tomakeme feel special.That’s
just thekindof guyhe is.Xx
